Our trainers are as knowledgeable, encouraging, and fun as they come!

They thrive off of helping you set goals, then challenging you to meet those goals both in and out of the gym. They also have great taste in music, which is always a plus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

1808 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206. We just moved to this new location, so come check it out!

What are your hours?

Our class times begin at 5:00 AM and end at 7:30 PM. We run 7 classes per day during that period. We are also open for personal training between class times. Classes and personal training are by reservation only.

What are your prices?

$165 for a single unlimited membership. $265 for a couple’s unlimited membership. Class Packs can be purchased as well. Purchase your membership or class pack here.

Can I try a class before becoming a member?

We encourage you to start with a free intro/consultation with our Head Coach Dustin at dustin@gymofsm.com. Our classes on Saturdays are always free to first-time visitors because these classes are programmed to give you a “taste” of Social Mechanics programming.

Do I need to be in shape or have experience with a barbell before I come to class?

Absolutely not! This is a common misunderstanding. You do not need to be in shape or have any fancy fitness resume. The programming and coaching at Social Mechanics is scalable for any fitness level. As with any new program (or new movements), it might take some getting used to the weight as you learn the ropes. We always recommend that you focus on moving well and at a pace that you are comfortable with. You are always in control of the intensity in every workout. If you want to push it a little more on some days, go for it. If you want to pull it back a little on other days, it’s all good. Always do you!

I’ve never done a group class, is it right for me?

Our gym is filled with members who took their first group fitness class at Social Mechanics, so we remember what it’s like. This is a fun and supportive environment that’s perfect for folks who don’t have experience with functional fitness or group fitness classes in general. Walking in the door the first time can be the hardest part, but you won’t regret it.

What is the general class structure and what equipment will we use?

The general class structure consists of: (1) a targeted warm-up (10 min.) (2) a strength component (15 – 20 min.) (3) a conditioning component (15 – 20 min.) (4) a cool-down/stretch component (5 – 10 min.) The equipment used in any given class may include dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, rowers, and bodyweight movements.

Where can I park?

We have a parking lot directly in front of the gym. There's also ample street parking, and an overflow lot directly behind American Flatbread. **Since we recently moved, most of our dedicated parking lot is still under construction.
