Our trainers are as knowledgeable, encouraging, and fun as they come!
They thrive off of helping you set goals, then challenging you to meet those goals both in and out of the gym. They also have great taste in music, which is always a plus.
Any “About Us” description of The Gym of Social Mechanics has to recognize the leaders that came before us.
Social Mechanics was founded in 2013 by HG Sply Co. to complement HG’s wholesome-eating and paleo-centric philosophy. The idea was to sweat at Social Mechanics, fuel up at HG Sply Co., and have fun doing both. That is a winning combo that still exists to this day!
Along the years, ownership of Social Mechanics changed hands from HG Sply Co. to the Dallas-based co-working company, Common Desk, to Cristen Trousdale, who was the general manager of Social Mechanics since the beginning.
In January 2020, four long-time members (that’s us!), who couldn’t bear to see the gym doors close, took over Social Mechanics. Social Mechanics is both a place and community that we care about deeply.
But, the story of Social Mechanics really begins and ends with our community of members. Whether they’ve been at the gym for five years or only for a couple of months, Social Mechanics is filled with folks who feel like family.
It’s obvious to say that a gym would not be a gym without its members, but when we say that about Social Mechanics, we mean that our kind, creative, hilarious, and (usually) hardworking members, both past and present, have been the ones to shape the culture of Social Mechanics as we know it today.
